Perfect Fit Laptop Sleeve (No. 131)
This pattern allows you to make your laptop sleeve fit YOUR laptop perfectly, no matter the size. Bag and pocket are knitted in the round with custom fit and optional sizing. Instructions include 2 handle styles (to use with or without hardware) and an optional zipper closure.
Both the Perfect Fit Laptop Sleeve and Powercord Pocket are worked with double-stranded worsted weight yarn and can be worked in stripes or solids. If you would like to work in happy stripes as shown, here is a listing of the colors used so you can replicate the results.
Cover Samples: The front cover sleeve was made using a combination of Galway and Riverstone: Galway in 125 Raspberry, 174 Strawberry, 173 Watermelon, 177 Honeysuckle, 148 Ruby, and Riverstone in 23 Strawberry, 11 Red, 12 Valentine, 33 Kumquat, 61 Goldleaf, and 63 Rouge. For the sleeve on the back cover, Galway and Riverstone were also used: Galway in 757 Bark Heather, 754 Heather Green, 130 Peat Moss, 59 Dark Moss and Riverstone in 55 Willow, 64 Island Moss, and 18 Lichen. Nora suggests using premium worsted weight wool & alpaca yarns in colors you love. Please check your unfelted and felted gauges by swatching a generous swatch or making the pocket first.
Yarn Requirements:
Laptop Sleeve: 840 – 1,470 yds of worsted weight, feltable wool
Powercord Pocket: 250 – 270 yds of worsted weight yarn.
Needles & Other Materials:
US 11/8 mm 24″/60cm circular needles for Laptop Sleeve
US11/8 mm 16″/40cm circular needles for Powercord Pocket
US11/8 mm set of double-pointed needles to work I-cord handles
Sharp sewing needle & like color sewing or nylon beading thread
Stitch markers
1 20″ or longer large-toothed zipper (optional)
Magnetic snap(s) to close powercord pocket(s) (optional)
For shoulder handles attached with rings: 4 JULSilver “Colors” resin rings in raspberry or your color choice.
For shoulder strap & briefcase handles: 2.75″/18mm black bolt snaps & 2 black 5/8″/15mm d-rings.
Noni Pockets in pink, chocolate, or your choice of color for extra storage of small necessities inside the Laptop Sleeve.
Dimensions: Custom sized to your laptop.
